As Democrats Move to Impeach, They Sideline America's Potential Economic Growth

Press Release

According to a monthly report out today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the unemployment rate in the United States is 3.5% -- the lowest it has been in 50 years. An economy that is lifting up all Americans is something House Republicans applaud this Administration for continually putting at the forefront of their agenda despite attempts by House Democrats to undermine the presidency and obstruct Congressional Republicans at every corner.

Here are some highlights of the report:

The jobless rate for Hispanic-Americans hit a record low -- 3.9%
U.S. employers added 136,000 jobs in September
The jobless rate for African-Americans remained steady at its lowest ever
The jobless rate for Americans without a high school diploma fell to 4.8%, the lowest rate since the series began in 1992
The jobless rate for women hit 3.1%, tying what it was in May, which was the lowest since 1953
While America flourishes in an economy with the lowest unemployment rate since 1969 and Americans across the country reap the benefits, House Democrats are preoccupied with impeaching the duly elected President of the United States in an effort to undo the 2016 election. In the process of undermining the will of voters across America, Democrats are purposely politicizing or blatantly ignoring most other issues that matter to the American people or would progress the state of our country.

Democrats in Congress should join Republicans in their relentless efforts to unlock more of America's economic potential. For example, in passing the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).

As Leader McCarthy penned in a joint op-ed for The Wall Street Journal with Leader McConnell earlier this week, the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) is a bipartisan trade deal that would create new jobs, expand export markets, strengthen protections for workers, and generate billions of dollars in new prosperity for this country. It would also help keep North American partners close while the U.S. negotiates with China.

Unfortunately, it seems Speaker Pelosi and her House Democrats will hold this progress and all positive, bipartisan legislation hostage until their politically driven impeachment circus is over.
